NATURAL MATERIALS
Caracol loves to use river pearls, shell, wood and leather in the creation of their jewelery and accessories. The use of natural material may bcause a variation in the colour, shape or texture which may differ slightly from the image shown.
METAL
Some people may experiment a change of colour or even a stain on their skin from their metal jewelery. WHY?
The colour change that some people see is due to the metal reacting with your skin. Metal plating turns black during a chemical reaction known as oxidization. Direct contact with the salts in your skin can speed up the oxidization process. Most fashion jewelery has a protective coating over the metal plating. Furthermore, acidic (or highly basic) environments promote the reaction. Normal skin has a slightly acidic pH. But some people's pH levels can trigger this reaction even more. This can cause the metal to tarnish, change coloUr (to a copper like colour) or even turn your skin green.
It is Important to note that changes in colour are NOT a sign of nickel, lead or cadmium content.
